Secure Cloud Infrastructure Development

Federal Client

Challenge

Legacy Infrastructure: Federal Client was burdened with aging on-premises data centers and legacy systems that lacked scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness, hindering their ability to adapt to evolving business needs.

IoT Data Ingestion: The client faced the challenge of efficiently ingesting and processing data from a multitude of IoT devices deployed in various field locations. This data influx required a robust network infrastructure capable of handling substantial data volumes securely and reliably.

Security Concerns: Ensuring the security of sensitive data and compliance with industry regulations was paramount for Federal Client. The need to safeguard against cybersecurity threats, data breaches, and unauthorized access demanded a comprehensive security strategy.

Interconnectivity: Federal Client operated in a diverse environment with multiple cloud platforms, including Vendor MAG and AWS environments. The challenge was to establish secure and seamless data flows between these environments while maintaining data integrity.

Monitoring and Management: With the migration to the cloud and the adoption of new technologies, monitoring and managing the entire IT ecosystem, including virtual machines, network devices, and cloud infrastructure, became increasingly complex. A robust monitoring solution was essential for proactive issue identification and resolution.

Solution

In response to these challenges, OmniVista provided a comprehensive suite of services, from infrastructure deployment and network management to security enhancements and compliance support. These services empowered Federal Client to modernize their IT infrastructure, improve data security, enhance network connectivity, and efficiently manage their cloud-based ecosystem.

OmniVista deployed Virtual Network Devices in the cloud, utilizing CISCO Services Router (CSR) network devices. These CSRs were configured to facilitate network connectivity and establish points of presence (PoPs) for data ingestion from IoT devices located in the field.

A secure cloud infrastructure was established to host all monitoring components for VMs and Network Devices within the Vendor Cloud. Monitoring tools, such as cloud-native solutions and third-party software, were implemented to ensure real-time visibility into the performance and health of the cloud environment.

Results

OmniVista was responsible for establishing connectivity and secure data flows from the primary MAG (Main Application Gateway) cloud to several Vendor MAG and AWS environments. This involved setting up secure interconnects, leveraging Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) peering, Direct Connect (for AWS), or other relevant technologies to facilitate seamless communication while maintaining data security.

OmiVista’s comprehensive approach not only facilitated the transition to a cloud-based infrastructure but also optimized the client’s network connectivity, security, and monitoring capabilities, ultimately improving their operational efficiency and data protection.
